The Law in Society program explores the intimate relationship between law and contemporary societies. The program allows students to study this relationship from an interdisciplinary perspective that may include the philosophic, historic, political, economic and sociological foundations of law. The Law in Society program is a superb preparation for graduate study in the humanities and social sciences, as well as for professional studies including law, public administration, policing, social work, and business.

The Law in Society program is available as a minor, double major or joint honors option as part of a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree.

The interdepartmental and inter-faculty structure of the UNB Law in Society program provides students with unique opportunity to explore a diversity of topics and perspectives in the interfacing of law, policy, justice, and social order from a range of perspectives with the flexibility of tailoring the program towards students’ interests.

High school students applying to undergraduate programs at the University of New Brunswick. USA: General Certificate of Secondary Education with grades of A or B. Applicants who have completed Grade 12 of an accredited high school program must satisfy UNB's minimum program-specific requirements (minimum B average). Criteria such as academic standing, rank in class and SAT scores may also be used to determine a candidates admissibility. ACT scores are not required. International students require the following English language proficiency minimum scores for direct entry into most academic programs: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 85, CAEL 60, or Pearson Vue Test 59.

The University of New Brunswick accepts qualified applicants from all countries. Entry requirements may vary from country to country.

CAEL CE or CAEL Online with a minimum overall score of 60
Pearson Vue Test with a minimum score of 59

Duolingo with a minimum overall score of 115
