The Business major program is in the Beedie School of Business. During the course of your BBA program, you will choose to specialize in at least one of eight concentrations (Accounting, Innovation and Entrepreneurship , Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management Information Systems, Marketing, or Operations Management).

During the first 60 units of the program, students will complete mainly non-business courses, which fall under three categories of courses. The first category consists of lower division requirements that are mainly foundation courses, which prepare students for more advanced upper division business courses. The second category consists of courses completed to meet university requirements in writing, quantitative and breadth areas. These first two categories should be completed during the first 60 units.

In the third category, students choose courses that are based on intellectual interest or to achieve academic goals. The last 60 units of the degree program consist of the core upper division business courses, at least one area of concentration, and lower and upper division electives.

Students are also required to complete the Business Career Passport, which consists of six workshops that will prepare students to manage their career through their academic program and after graduation. The goal of the Business Career Passport is to help students make informed decisions about career paths, gain access to career opportunities and present themselves professionally to employers.

Other English Language Requirements accepted: A minimum TOEFL score of 580 (paper-based).

Applicant must have completed Year 12 High School or its equivalent to Canadian High School.

Obtain a satisfactory score on one of the following English language proficiency tests.

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.5 on the Academic Modules with no part less than 6.
  • TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language internet based test) with an overall score of 88 or better with a minimum score of 20 in each of the four components (listening, speaking, writing, reading)
  • TOEFL CBT (Test of English as a Foreign language computer based test) with a minimum score of 230 including a minimum essay score of 4.5
  • TOEFL CBT with a minimum score of 250.
  • Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) with an overall score of 70, with no part less than 60
  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with an overall score of 65, with no part less than 60
