Help in the healthy development of vulnerable children, youth and families through trauma-informed practice. Effective child and youth care counsellors are emotionally mature, ethically strong and can make a tremendous impact on the lives of others. Employment opportunities include school programs, group homes, treatment and mental health centres, and community programs. The children, youth and families you will work with may have suffered physical, sexual or emotional abuse, neglect and/or family breakdown. High School Applicant: must present a minimum admission average of 65%, calculated on the five appropriate Grade 12 courses. Applicants in all admission categories must present: English Language Arts 30-1 – minimum grade 60%. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): 86 (min. 20 in each of four sections); IELTS (International English Language Test - Academic): 6.5 (min. 5.5 on each band).
