The basic medical sciences look at the molecular, cellular, and systems organization of the human body and the biological mechanisms it uses to adapt to environmental changes and disease. The Medical Sciences Program leads to the four-year BMSc degree, which is offered jointly by the Faculty of Science and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and is designed for students (testimonial) interested in advanced study of one or more of the basic medical sciences. This joint program focuses on the application of science to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of human disease.Microbiology & Immunology teaches you how our immune system responds to microbial infections and tumour cells how some microbes cause global infectious diseases and epidemics while others benefit our health, industry and the environment why we get vaccines, autoimmune diseases, allergies, and more.

Entry requirements may vary from country to country. Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Canadian secondary school.

English Language Proficiency Requirements:

IELTS: A minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required with no part less than 6.0; TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 83 on the internet-based test with no section score below 20, and 550 on the paper-based test with a 5 on the TWE; Can TEST: A minimum overall score of 4.0 is required with no part less than 4.0; CAEL: A minimum overall score of 60 is required with no part less than 60; MELAB: A minimum overall score of 80 is required with no score less than 78; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): A minimum overall score of 58 is required with no score less than 56.
