The Certificate in Science Foundation’s is a non-degree program that caters to students who wish to develop the necessary background for further study in undergraduate degree programs in Science. It also may be of interest to students whose preference is to follow a shorter program of study or who wish to update their knowledge or learn important basics of Science. The certificate requires successful completion of 30 credits. At least 24 of these credits must be chosen from courses offered by three departments in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Students may transfer into the certificate program up to 12 credits earned in an incomplete degree or certificate program or as an Independent student, provided they are students in good standing. The credits that may be so transferred are determined by the University at the point of entry into the program. Students who are admitted to the Certificate in Science Foundations, and who wish to continue in a degree program, should apply for admission to their program within the first 30 credits.

Cegep Students: No specific courses are required beyond a DEC. Minimum Cut-off Averages;: Minimum cut-off averages should be used as indicators. The cut-off data may change depending on the applicant pool. Applicants who meet the stated minimum requirements are not guaranteed admission to these programs. Quebec Cegep (CRC): DEC; Canadian High Schools: 70 per cent; U.S. High Schools: 2.5; University Transfers: C; International Bacc. (IB): 27; Bacc. Francais: 11/20. Make sure you also meet Concordia’s minimum admission requirements. Quebec: You must complete a two-year, pre-university program or a three-year professional DEC (Diplome detudes collégiales). CRC minimum requirements for admission vary between 19.000 and 30.000; however, based on space availability, students below this average may be considered. Other parts of Canada: You must be a high school graduate, depending on which province you are from. Applicant from other countries must have the requirements equivalent to Canada. All applicants to the Certificate in Community Service program are required to submit a Letter of Intent with their Concordia University admission application. English language requirements: Direct Admission: TOEFL (paper-based) score between 540 and 576. Conditional Admission: TOEFL (paper-based) score between 505 and 539; MELAB minimum score of 74, 2 on speaking tests; CAEL minimum score of 50; CAE minimum score of C; CPE (advanced qualification for proficient users only) minimum score of C.
