Our program provides comprehensive instruction in mechanical engineering design, research and development.

Job-specific skills

In this program, you'll work in Sheridan's sophisticated laboratory environment with the most current tools and techniques, completing projects that simulate the workplace responsibilities of mechanical engineering technicians. You'll acquire a broad base of fundamental knowledge, along with job-specific skills that employers are looking for.

Hands-on experience

You'll study mechanical engineering systems under the CDIO paradigm (conceive, design, implement and operate), using advanced equipment and technologies, including:

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

Fluid power technology

Energy systems

Fluid mechanics

Kinetics and dynamics of machines

Computer-assisted Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM)

Co-op opportunities

Mechanical Engineering Technology students can apply for a paid co-op work term, supplementing their education with paid work experience. Enrolment is limited through an additional co-op selection process.
