Program Description

The College of Social and Applied Human Sciences is launching a new, interdisciplinary doctoral program in the field of social practice and transformational change!

Become immersed in a culture of collaboration with emphasis on community engaged scholarship and bridge the gap between theory and practice. The PhD in Social Practice and Transformational Change makes social practice the subject of research and recognizes research as a social practice.

With the creation of an Individual Development Plan (IDP), the program is deeply learner-centred with built-in flexibility allowing your learning to be adapted and directed by you.

Program Pillars

The proposed program is grounded by six key pillars:

Intersectional and Decolonizing Approaches and the ‘Unsettling’ Nature of Change

Feminist, Gender, Sexuality and Other Critical Perspectives for Rethinking Difference and the Human

Indigenous Knowledge Systems
