Program Requirements

The graduate certificate in French immersion pedagogy aims to train teachers in French immersion, while addressing the educational challenges related to teaching jointly targeting language and content. This higher education certificate is intended for the training of primary and secondary school teachers. To this end, it first leads the student to understand the causes, both linguistic and cognitive, of the difficulties experienced by immersion students. Then, it offers a variety of teaching strategies conducive to responding to these difficulties, as well as learning situations supported by teachers in order to overcome the silos between language and content.
