Что я буду изучать?

U of T Scarborough French students will study both the structure and mechanics of the French language and will also learn practical French for business and everyday use. Studies in French allow for a wide range of interests: French history and culture; the enhancement of practical language skills including translation; the study of how the language is structured and how it evolved and spread; the development of approaches to the teaching of French; and the exploration of the rich literature and cultures of the francophone world.

French Studies (Arts)

10.0 credits are required, including at least 4.0300/400 level credits in literature/linguistics, 1.0 of which must be a 400 level credit.

First Year FRE180H5 and FRE181H5 (minimum grade of 63% is required) or equivalent. Students exempt from these courses may replace them with a higher level 1.0 credit in FRE.

Internet-based Test:

Minimum Requirement: total score of 100 + 22 on Writing

Discretionary Range: total score 89-99 +19 - 21 on Writing

Cambridge Assessment English C1: Advanced or C2: Proficiency: A minimum overall score of 180, with at least 170 in each component.

Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): The minimum score required to meet our English facility requirement is an overall score of 70 and no part below 60.

Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTEST): The minimum requirement is a total score of 4.5, and no part below 4.
