The joint bachelor of music (B.Mus.) and bachelor of business administration (BBA), is a five-year joint degree program, in which students complete, continuous undergraduate degree program in music learning and development including: applied studies and mentorship, ensemble performance, chamber music, musicologies, music theory (written theory and aural skills), music technology, and career skills. At the same time, they complete a full business degree program and develop knowledge and skills in business studies including: accounting, finance, marketing, branding, management, strategy, and entrepreneurship.

Students enrolled in the joint degree program may choose from the following majors: composition, general musical studies, or performance.

Completion of the joint degree significantly heightens the ability of graduates to pursue professional careers in music and related industries from entrepreneurial ventures (e.g. performance, composition, studio teaching, digital media) to professional and managerial work within established businesses and organizations.

Other English Language Requirements accepted: The Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Assessment with a minimum band scores of between 50 and 60 in each of the four skills tested (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking), with at least two band scores of 60 are the minimum requirements necessary for admission to the Marine Institute; A minimum score of at least 85 on the English Proficiency Test administered by the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (MELAB); Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTEST) with a minimum band scores of 4.5 in the listening comprehension and reading comprehension sub-tests and a score of 4 in writing are required to satisfy Marine Institute English proficiency requirements; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) with a minimum score of 85.

Applicants shall have completed the requirements for a recognized high school diploma or equivalent. Students are normally admitted to the B.Mus. degree program at the beginning of the fall semester. Successful applicants may enter the joint program immediately in their first semester. All applications must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar. The deadline for applications is January 15.

English Requirements:

Duolingo English Test (DET) - A minimum score of 115.

IELTS - A minimum overall band score of 6.5, with at least a band 6 in reading and writing. General training results are not acceptable.

TOEFL - A minimum score of 79 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT) with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing, and not less than 17 in listening and speaking.

(CAEL) Assessment - Minimum band scores between 50 and 60 in each of the four skills tested (reading, writing, listening and speaking), with at least two band scores of 60.

Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE) - A minimum score of 58 in each of the reading, writing, listening and speaking components of the PTE is required.

CanTEST - Minimum band scores of 4.5 in the listening comprehension and reading comprehension sub-tests and a score of 4 in writing are required on the CanTest.

MELAB - A minimum score of 85 is required on the MELAB
