The Master's in Environmental Studies Planning program draws from EUCs interdisciplinary grounding to educate planners who understand the relational nature of environmental, socio-spatial, cultural, economic, legal and political forces that define planning problems and processes and shape the differentiated impacts of planning outcomes for diverse population segments. Through our accredited planning curriculum-which builds on required courses, self-directed plan of study and research, and experiential education-students gain advanced knowledge and professional skills to engage reflexively with questions of social and environmental justice in relation to urban and regional development.
In addition to our core curriculum, students have the opportunity to focus on one or more of the following areas of specialization: Urban and Regional Planning Environmental Planning Community, Social Policy and Planning or Food Planning. You will acquire theoretical and applied knowledge to design, analyze, and implement plans, policies, and programs as you contribute to city-building, and effect positive change at every scale of action, from the neighbourhood to the globe.
