Что я буду изучать?

The Masters of Arts in Environmental Management program focuses on dynamics and processes that impact the functionality and sustainability of natural and human systems. These explorations take place in the context of public policy, management, problem solving and leadership. You will cover a variety of methods, skills, and tools in the application of systems thinking and sustainability to a variety of current environmental issues; building on your existing environmental skills and knowledge base acquired in your past learning and life experience. You will also have the opportunity to delve deeply into a research topic of your personal concern by way of completing a thesis.

In this program, you can be enrolled either in the MA or the MSc stream. Which qualification you choose and which you are eligible for is dependent both on your goals for your program and your previous experiences. However, the program is a shared experience that integrates the science and social science disciplines together to consider real word issues and opportunities. What is most important for tackling some of the significant environmental challenges we are currently facing is that we take an interdisciplinary view that brings multiple perspectives to bear on a problem in a meaningful way.

Careers

As a graduate, you'll have developed leadership and communication skills in systems thinking and sustainability in the context of environmental challenges from the local to the global. You'll have a solid knowledge of theory and practice of systems, sustainability and the understanding of the inter-relationships between human, social and ecological systems will be developed, as well as critical management concepts as they relate to environmental problems. You'll be prepared for a career that requires the knowledge, skills, competencies and applied approaches to find viable solutions to 21st-century challenges.

Our graduates advance in their careers, or are able to start new ones as a result of the program. Opportunities also arise as a direct result of research undertaken during the program. Recent alumni are now working in fields such as climate change, sustainability, wildlife management, natural resources management, environmental restoration, and remediation, to name a few. We have alumni whose careers have led to them achieving designations as Environmental Professionals, RP Bios, RP Agrologists, for example.
