You will study French and Francophone literature, language and culture in our MA program, with an option to do a concentration in Cultural, Social & Political Thought (CSPT).
Faculty specialities include French, Quebec, French-Canadian, African and Caribbean literatures, culture and theory, cinema, theatre, Indigenous literatures, creative writing, research-creation, queer theories, digital humanities and theoretical and applied linguistics.
You will take courses in research methods and professional practices and develop a close-knit cohort. Choose a project-based or a thesis option

Completion of a 4-year Bachelor of Arts degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 15 units of senior undergraduate course work in French.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): We require a minimum score of 90 from the internet-based TOEFL (IBT). You must also score at least 20 points each in the listening, speaking, reading and writing sections.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System): We require minimum overall band score of 6.5 on the IELTS. No individual component can have a score lower than 6.0.
MET (Michigan English Test): A score of 64 on the MET will be accepted as proof of English proficiency.
