Что я буду изучать?

The Master of Arts Health Promotion (MA Health Promotion) program focuses on understanding and challenging inequities in health across diverse settings and populations.

If you have an interest in solving important social health issues and conducting research that may influence the health and well-being of individuals and communities, this program will provide the challenges, skills, opportunities, and support to help you reach your goals.

Through valuable connections to community-based organizations, government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations, students have many opportunities to apply their theoretical knowledge to research, policy, and practice.

Some benefits of the MA Health Promotion:

  • Flexibility and receptiveness to thinking in new ways, enhanced responsiveness to changes in the field and discipline.
  • Commitment and capacity to supervise and mentor a variety of graduate students.
  • Informal and formal opportunities to share research ideas and approaches.
  • Success in research funding awards for graduate students.
  • Direct connections to the Centre for Excellence in Health Promotion and the Atlantic Centre for Excellence in Women's Health.

Areas of study within Health Promotion may include health and its relationship to

  • diverse populations
  • gender
  • health across the life span
  • program evaluation
  • sexuality
  • social relationships
  • spirituality

One full academic year (12 months) of resident study at Dalhousie University is the minimum requirement for the one-year MA Health Promotion degree. However, students should expect to take from 18 to 24 months of full-time work to complete the degree. Ordinarily, for full-time students, the degree must be completed within four years of first registration.
