Что я буду изучать?

The department of Political Science offers a high-quality graduate program in a collegial, small department. There is extensive contact between professors and students. There is also a congenial social environment, enhanced by the excellent entertainment and environmental amenities of the City of Halifax. Students may also work in interdisciplinary programs, such as International Development Studies. The Department is complemented by the Centre for Foreign Policy Studies, which is active in research, publishing, policy advising, and teaching on various aspects of foreign policy, defence and security studies, and international relations.

The MA is a one-year (12 month) program consisting of six half-year classes (18 credit hours) and a thesis. Courses normally include at least 6 of the 18 required credit hours in core graduate seminars (International Relations, Canadian, Comparative or Theory), 3 credits in Research Methods class (POLI 5100.03), and the remaining 9 credit hours in graduate courses in any field. 6 of these remaining 9 credit hours can be taken as reading classes, or from courses in other departments (with permission of the instructor and Graduate Coordinator)." Classes include at least two of the core graduate seminars and not more than one credit of classes cross-listed as undergraduate / graduate (3000/5000). Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate a minimum TOEFL score of 600, or the equivalent score on a comparable test.
