Что я буду изучать?

To complete the MEd degree, graduate students must successfully complete five full course equivalents at the graduate level. Graduate students must maintain minimum satisfactory academic standing as noted in the Faculty of Graduate Studies Master's Regulations.

(a) Compulsory courses:

Education 5010 - Researching in Education or

Education 5011 - Researching in Education for Change

(students may not take both Education 5010 and Education 5011) and one of:

Education 5110 - Quantitative Research in Education

Education 5111 - Qualitative Research in Education

Education 5117 - Indigenous Research Approaches

Education 5119 - Arts Integrated Research Approaches

MEd: Education for Change: Environmental and Sustainability Education (ESE)

ESE focuses on theory, research, and practices that analyze the cultural and ecological politics of sustainability and foster mutually flourishing relationships between humanity and the natural world. It includes approaches such as climate change pedagogy, ecopedagogy, environmental justice education, food education, humane education, outdoor education, and place-based education.

MEd: Education for Change: Indigenous Education (IE)

IE is grounded in Indigenous historical, philosophical, sociocultural, and political foundations and Indigenous research, protocols, and practices that focus on educational aspects of the politics of colonization and decolonization, honouring Indigenous knowledges and relationships to land, exploring Indigenous approaches to well-being, and revitalizing traditional worldviews and languages.

MEd: Education for Change: Social Justice Education (SJE)

SJE focuses on theory, research, and practices that analyse and address social forces both in and out of schools that perpetuate injustice and oppression, and includes approaches with diverse emphases such as anti-racist education, anti-classist education, fat pedagogy, feminist pedagogy, humane education, Indigenous education, inclusive education, and queer pedagogy.

Applicants for admission must be graduates of a recognized university, college, or institute as well as show evidence of scholarly achievement. Except where otherwise stated in the Admission Requirements of a particular program, degree students must have a four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent with at least second class standing (B) based on their last 20 half courses or equivalent. An applicant holding a degree other than one in the discipline area to which admission is sought will be considered on the basis of courses taken and academic standing. A Qualifying Year at the undergraduate level may be required to meet the admission standards. Courses taken as part of a Qualifying Year cannot be used as credit towards a graduate degree. English language requirement: TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language (paper based): Minimum Score: 550 (no component score less than 50); TOEFL (computer based): Minimum Score: 213 (no component score less than 17); TOEFL (internet based): Minimum Score: 80 (no component score less than 19); IELTS (academic test) - International English Language Testing System: Minimum Score: 6.5 (no individual score less than 6.0); MELAB - Michigan English Language Assessment Battery: Minimum Score: 85.

TOEFL (paper based): Minimum Score - 550 (no component score less than 50); TOEFL (computer based): Minimum Score -213 (no component score less than 17); TOEFL (internet based): Minimum Score - 80 (no component score less than 19); IELTS: Minimum Score - 6.5 (no individual score less than 6.0); MELAB: Minimum Score - 85; CAEL: Minimum Score - 60; CAE- Cambridge Assessment English ( C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency): Minimum Score - 176 (no component score less than 169; PTE (Academic): Minimum Score- 58 (no component score less than 50).
