Что я буду изучать?

A multi-disciplinary study of human movement, the Master of Science Kinesiology (MSc Kinesiology) program focuses on the theoretical and applied aspects of human performance in a variety of settings. The combination of theory and application, together with development of research skills, results in an outstanding academic experience and preparation for professional practice or further study.

Because Dalhousie has links with many institutions and organizations within Halifax and beyond, students are able to make important connections, resulting in valuable and meaningful collaborative learning opportunities.

Possible areas of study within Kinesiology

  • biomechanics
  • bone health
  • clinical and occupational kinesiology
  • environmental physiology
  • ergonomics
  • exercise physiology
  • motor control and learning
  • neural control of movement
  • nutrition
  • physical activity and health
  • sport officiating
  • sport psychology

Kinesiology courses at the graduate level in the School of Health and Human Performance will build on the skills and knowledge students already have and offer many opportunities to explore news interests or focus on existing ones.

One full academic year (12 months) of resident study at Dalhousie University is the minimum requirement for the Master of Science Kinesiology degree. However, you should expect to take from 18 to 24 months of full-time work to complete the degree. Ordinarily, for full-time students, the degree must be completed within four years of first registration.

You may also choose to complete the degree through part-time study. However, financial assistance is not available for part-time students.

Students in the MSc Kinesiology program must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of coursework, a mandatory graduate seminar series worth 3 credit hours, and 12 credit hours of thesis work, for a total of 27 credit hours.
