Что я буду изучать?

The aviation industry is a huge and diverse one, employing engineers across multiple disciplines. The aerospace engineering degree prepares students for a career in the industry by providing knowledge on how aircraft are designed, constructed, powered, used, and controlled for safe operation. The students also develop skills in management, airworthiness and aviation regulations through a number of additional courses. As an aerospace engineer, you could work in design and manufacture of civil and military aircraft. You could also work in technical departments of airlines.

Programme summary

The BEng (aerospace engineering) course equips graduates with core scientific and engineering knowledge, practical laboratory skills, team working, problem solving and other transferable skills needed to pursue careers as professional aerospace engineers, as well as a diverse range of other career options in the aviation industry. Graduates will have the status of a professional engineer status and as a result of their international exposure, they will be in demand from a range of aerospace fields locally and globally.

Preliminary year

In the preliminary year, you will follow a foundation programme designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge for undergraduate study in English medium.

Qualifying year (UK year one)

The qualifying year takes students with backgrounds in science and mathematics and introduces the fundamental engineering sciences including thermodynamics, basic electricity, and fluid mechanics. Introductory aerodynamics and aircraft design fundamentals are also covered in addition to development of professional skills. Learning is enabled through a variety of methods from problem solving skills to tutorials and workshop practices.

Professional Engineering and Project 1

Aerospace Electrical and Electronic Engineering 1

Par 1 (UK year two)

Part 1 year is spent developing the fundamental engineering sciences into the key processes and operations that are common within aerospace engineering field, such as aircraft systems, airframe, propulsion and aircraft structure studies.

Part 2 (UK year three)

In part 2, the skills and knowledge already gained are applied to more practical engineering problems. Workshop practices are broadly designed using aircraft simulators and various aircraft system operations. Aircraft certification practices, airworthiness issues, project management, business and finance are covered according to the industry requirements.

Part 2 students undertake a group design project that simulates a commercial aerospace industry environment. Therefore, the industry related projects are encouraged.

Entry requirements for our courses vary depending on your school qualifications, which determine your entry into either the preliminary year (year one) or qualifying year (year two).

An applicant should be at least 18 years of age on admission to the University.

Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to China.

IELTS 5.5 (no less than 5.0 in writing)

PTE Academic 55 (minimum 51)

Qualifying year

IELTS 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in writing)

PTE Academic 62 (minimum 55)
