Double Master Degree in Mathematics University of Bordeaux

The program MathBoX promotes academic cooperation between France and China in the domain of fundamental and applied mathematics.

Students from the University of Bordeaux and Xiamen University complete the first year of their Master at their home university and the second year at the partner university.

They choose one specialty topic from a choice of five proposed by UBx and four proposed by XMU.

Upon successful completion of their exams and the Master thesis, students are awarded a Master degree from both universities.

The MathBoX program prepares students for further studies and research within the framework of a PhD in various fields of mathematics. It also equips students with highly sought-after skills and expertise to help with finding a job within the industrial sector or public organizations.

Program structure

With the first year of the Master program, students choose one of the Master specialities at their home university. For the second year of the Master program, they move to the partner university and pursue their studies with a corresponding specialty.

The MathBoX curriculum features advanced courses and a research project that leads to a Master thesis.

Students must have successfully completed the first year of their Master program before starting their mobility period in the partner university.
