The Department of Applied Mechanics offers selected candidates the opportunity to pursue doctoral level research leading to the PhD degree. The PhD candidate carries out research work in one of the research areas of interest (specialization) of the Department under the guidance of a faculty member.
A few research scholars sponsored by recognized R&D organizations are also admitted to pursue the PhD programs. Most of them carry out the major part of their research work as External Research Scholar in their own organizations.

Foreign Nationals who got degree from India - Master's degree in Engineering/Technology with a good academic record or a Master's degree by
Research in engineering/Technology with a good academic record and a valid GATE score or qualified in NET (CSIR / UGC) /NBHM / CAT / AIMA or
