Gain the academic skills and entry required for higher level study in support work and then social workThis six month course is designed to build your skills for long term academic and career success by ensuring the essential layers of learning are in place. Support Work / Social Work Pathway covers skills for academic study as a compulsory course and then three other courses are chosen. These courses include te reo, Introduction to the Human Body, Introduction to Nutrition, Fitness Training and Coaching Practice or Making Sense of Calculations.You will take core courses designed to equip you with fundamental academic skills to take you to level 4. There is no work placement component at this level.This programme is a gateway to NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing and then on to the Bachelor of Social Work if all requirements are met. If the destination is another bachelor degree, students may want to complete the NZ Certificate in Study and Career Preparation Level 4.
