The aim of this programme is to develop graduates who have the skills and knowledge to work as senior operators at a strategic level in the hotel tourism and travel industries or progress to further study.analyse and evaluate local national and international tourism operating environments in order to effectively develop and guide strategic business direction in the tourism industryidentify and analyse strategic leadership roles and styles and the potential impact on change management for a tourism enterprisedevelop analyse and critique tourism business strategic systems and processes that enable the commercial development of a quality visitor experience and contribute to overall sustainable business effectivenessprepare effective public relations campaigns including multimedia communications for a tourism business developmentanalyse and propose strategic business models to improve environmental sustainability for a tourism business or tourism business developmentdevelop strategic investment plans for a tourism enterpriseSatisfactory CompletionTo satisfactorily complete the New Zealand Diploma in Tourism and Travel Level 6 and be awarded this qualification the student must successfully achieveA minimum of 120 credits in accordance with the programme schedule for the New Zealand Diploma in Tourism and Travel Level 6.The student will normally be expected to complete the New Zealand Diploma in Tourism and Travel Level 6 fulltime over one year or parttime over six years.Career OpportunitiesGraduates will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to work at a senior level in a tourism and travel related business. Roles may include tourism operations manager tourism business development manager general manager and trade development manager.
