To be eligible for admission to a Master's degree programme at ETH Zurich you need to have a high-quality Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 180 ECTS or an equivalent first academic degree from an internationally recognized university. Other English language requirements: Cambridge Proficiency (CPE) - Required minimum C1 (grade C); required minimum C2 (grade C); Cambridge Advanced (CAE) - Required minimum C1 (grade B); CAE not recognized as level C2.

The students must satisfy the following criteria:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent first degree from an internationally recognised university
- The Bachelor's degree is based on at least three years of study (full-time equivalent) or 180 credits ECTS (European credit transfer system), respectively. 1 credit ECTS corresponds to a workload of 25-30 hours.
- The Bachelor's degree qualifies the holder to enter, without additional requirements, Master's degree programs at a university within the education system where the Bachelor's degree was acquired.

- IELTS Academic: Required minimum C1 (7.0); required minimum C2 (8.0)
- TOEFL Internet-based: Required minimum C1 (100); required minimum (C2) (110)
- Cambridge Proficiency (CPE) - Required minimum C1 (grade C); required minimum C2 (grade C)
- Cambridge Advanced (CAE) - Required minimum C1 (grade B); CAE not recognized as level C2
