HNC Applied Science (Forensics)Applied ScienceForensic scientists aid criminal investigations by collecting and analysing impartial scientific evidence for use in courts of law to support the prosecution or defence in criminal and civil investigations. You will have an enquiring mind, good communication skills and a methodical approach to work. You will gain a thorough understanding of relevant aspects of crime scene examination, human anatomy and physiology. The broad spectrum of skills learnt on these courses can be applied to a variety of university degrees and careers.BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate first year. This is a 2 year course leading to a Higher National Diploma (Foundation Degree) in Applied Science - Forensic Science.You will study subjects ranging from Lab techniques, scientific data handling, anatomy, biochemistry, criminal investigation, forensic psychology, molecular biology and genetics, forensic evidence toxicology and genetic analysis.What qualifications will I need for Year 1?Level 3 qualification in Applied Science or equivalent A-Levels.What qualifications will I need for Year 2?Level 3 qualification in Applied Science or equivalent GCSE's/A Levels followed by the Higher National Certificate.
