Что я буду изучать?

**Do you wonder how we perceive the world around us? Can art reshape our perception of the world? What does art say about us individually, and culturally? How do materials ‘think’ and behave?** Study both the science and art of the human mind and its relationship with behaviour, personality and self-expression. Learn how to think, feel and communicate through making. Gain your first qualification towards training to be a professional clinical psychologist while expanding your skills and knowledge of art production, its contexts and histories. **Art**Join a lively community at Reading School of Art. Explore a vast range of media, experiment with emerging art forms and develop as an artist. The studios are busy places with events, workshops, performances and exhibitions regularly taking place. There is dedicated space accessible 24 hours a day and seven days a week, and daily access to studio tutors during the week to help develop your individual and professional practice. Trips to museums and art galleries help prompt thoughts on how art is displayed and received and you can gain professional experience by taking part in your own exhibitions, public art commissions and events. Our teaching staff are all artists, curators and researchers of international standing. You will learn through a mixture of studio teaching, seminars, lectures, group workshops and critiques, technical and material sessions and field trips. You will have access to our range of facilities, including workshops for construction, printing and casting, darkroom for photography, digital tools for film and video editing, imaging, sound and web building and a dedicated audio-visual room and sound-recording booth. **Psychology**The psychology element of this course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and enables you to move on to further training as a professional psychologist. Your first year will introduce you to the concepts required for BPS qualification, including cognition, neuroscience, development, personality and social psychology. You'll explore the inner workings of the world's most complex machine: the human brain. Throughout the course you will gain practical experience, learn how to devise and run your own experiments and develop your knowledge by exploring areas of interest in greater depth. Recent module topics include autistic spectrum conditions, behavioural economics, nutritional psychology, and cognitive behavioural theory and therapy.**Placements**Your degree includes career management skills training and you will be encouraged to undertake placements during your studies. Previous art students have enjoyed art internships at Studio Voltaire, Frieze Art Fair, and Tate Exchange. Psychology students have undertaken placements at organisations such as charities or at one of our three in-house NHS clinics. Alternatively, you can volunteer as a research assistant on a range of projects within the School. **Study abroad**In your second or third year, you can spend a term studying abroad at one of our partner institutions in the USA, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, or Europe. You can also participate in week-long international study trips as part of a module for which you gain credits.**Careers**You will enter the job market with a unique and unusual combined skill set in oral, clinical and visual communication, practical and theoretical research and writing, together with a high level of cultural literacy and critical sophistication. Our BSc Psychology is accredited by the British Psychological Society and provides you with the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership.
