IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?

An HND in Mechanical Engineering is a valuable and highly regarded qualification within the industry. The programme is preparation for the Top-up Degree programme in engineering. The course is also ideal for those who want to establish a career in the industry or progress in their current position. The programme provides students with analytical thinking skills and the principles of mechanical engineering. Students will acheive a HNC (Level 4) in year 1 and a HND (Level 5) in year 2.

How will I be assessed?

The HND programme is assessed through a variety of methods from written assignments to course work

What can I progress onto?

The programme may be studied as part of a higher or degree apprenticeship. Students may progress to the Beng (Hons) Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Top-up Degree at the University Centre Wigan & Leigh College. You may apply to become a member of: Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
