Combined programs allow highly qualified students to simultaneously pursue a Bachelor's and Master's degree.

Students in a combined program will remain as undergraduates until they apply for graduation or submit a request to the Graduate School to have their classification changed from undergraduate to graduate.
The Exercise and Health Science combined program allows undergraduate students to begin working towards a Master’s degree as they finish their undergraduate degree. For students admitted into the combined program, 9 hours of 500/600 level courses may be double-counted toward the B.S. and M.S. The degree may be obtained in 5 years or less, particularly if students bring advanced standing credit into the Bachelor’s degree. This combined program is designed to provide breadth and depth of knowledge about physiology nutrition, and performance under a variety of conditions.
The experiential opportunities (i.e. research, internships) include assessments of cardiovascular, muscular, and respiratory fitness using graded exercise stress tests, nutritional assessment, metabolic, blood lipid, and blood pressure measures, electrocardiography, electromyography and body composition, strength and power, and biomechanical measurements.
Completing 124 undergraduate credit hours changes an undergraduate to graduate student status (note: this change in classification will affect eligibility for financial aid).
Students receiving a bachelor's degree prior to completing the master's degree can count up to nine hours of graduate coursework toward their bachelor's degree with the permission of the appropriate advisor, deans, or designees. Those hours can also count toward the completion of their master's degree.
