The undergraduate program provides the opportunity to develop skills in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing German and to learn about the language, literature, and culture of the German-speaking regions of the world. Courses in Yiddish language, literature, and culture are also offered. Students who major or minor in Germanic Studies may use their training in a variety of occupations, including teaching, translation, international marketing, banking and commerce, diplomatic service, and journalism.
Major in Germanic Studies with a Business Minor The major in Germanic Studies with a Business Minor requires 28 hours of courses in German beyond GER 104. These 28 hours are made up of both required and elective courses. There are an additional 14 hours of required business courses to complete this degree.

High school graduates who have never attended another college or university must submit evidence of graduation from an accredited high school or submit passing scores on the General Educational Development (GED) test.
They must have obtained TOEFL iBT - Total Score 80; IELTS Overall Score - 6.5 with a score of subsection minimum as follows: listening 6, writing 6, reading 6, and speaking 6, PTE with a score of 54 (with subsection minimum as follows: listening 47, writing 56, reading 51, and speaking 53).
Application deadline: Fall - First Year Early Action - November 1st, First Year Regular Decision - February 1st. Spring - First Year Regular Decision - October 1st.
