Experts estimate that sales professionals account for as much as 10 percent of U.S. employment. Although, the role of the sales force is critical to many firms’ success, there are very few accredited sales management programs. Not only do we offer a sales management program, it has recently been ranked as high as the #3 program in the country. We also offer a minor in Sales Management and certificate programs in Professional Selling and Health Care Selling.
Our strong Executive Advisory Board has helped us build degree programs that tightly fit the needs of the business community. Our state-the-art Fisher Sales laboratory permits students to augment traditional learning approaches with extensive sales and negotiation role playing programs.
Degrees and Preparation
Don't buy into the stereotype of a salesperson as pushy, arrogant, or willing to compromise ethical standards in order to make a sale. Our graduates are trained to be sales representatives and managers whose jobs are not only to sell, but consult and build long term relationships. Sales skills are essential for all executives, regardless of their function in the firm. Our graduates start at higher than average salaries for leading companies such as NCR, Oracle, Xerox, The J. M. Smucker Company, Northwestern Mutual and FirstEnergy.
Jobs are abundant in the field of sales. Many of the graduates of the Sales Management Program begin their careers in industrial or business-to-business sales but there is also high demand in healthcare and financial services. They work at leading firms throughout the U.S. and in other countries. Many of them will stay in sales or sales management while others will use sales as springboard to other management positions in the firm.
